Abuse Prevention Protocol Webinar

with No Comments
Those who work with children in an early learning educational setting are trusted and uniquely positioned to make a big difference in the lives of the children and families they serve.

As early childhood educators, it is essential to be able to recognize the signs of abuse and to know what you are legally required to do should you find yourself in a situation where you suspect or witness abuse. It’s also important to have a protocol in place that you and your team can follow to protect the children in your care from abuse that could occur while at your centre.
We have created an Abuse Prevention Protocol Webinar as a tool to help train those that care for children on the importance of child abuse prevention and to how to create a child abuse prevention protocol.
Subjects covered:

– What is abuse?
– The reasons for developing an abuse prevention protocol
– Evaluate & reduce the risk
– Recruiting process
– Screening checks & police record checks
– Training of staff & volunteers (appropriate vs. inappropriate)
– Dealing with a child’s behaviour
– Collecting & retaining necessary documents
– Dealing with reports of abuse
– Legal & insurance considerations
